30 Days of Photographs III: Steel

Day 19 of 30 Days of Photographs III, and people are really starting to feel the pressure now. Lots of complaining going on, lots of whining about the prompts, lots of stressing about Kafkaesque. Suck it up, people. Now go add your link to the linky thingy, and be happy we didn't add paperclip as a prompt.

Steel

I have not seen the sun in weeks and weeks. Not since before this challenge started. Steely gray, overcast, rain and wind, every day.

I love it!

    You're trying to make me cry, aren't you? You know how much I love the ocean, how much I miss the smell of salt and iodine, the bracing chill of its mist, the faraway look of the horizon, and the majesty of the clouds and sky above it. How much I long to be at sea, to see the vast beauty of the world that I've seen in part, but mostly just read about.

    I find this picture heartbreakingly beautiful, Ziva, from the turbidity of the black water and the ponderous, dark grey clouds to the thin band of trees on the far shore and the seeking ray of light that's cast across the surface of the water through a narrow break in the clouds.

    It's gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.

    You win again. Not that it's a competition, of course. But still...

    Really gorgeous photo! Just speaks volumes in its simplicity and composition. Now for the feelings it evokes - well seasonal affective disorder (SAD) comes to mind...

    Oh I just LOVE steely gray, overcast, rain and wind, too! I think I might even like days like that better than sunny ones.

    It was a really cold day! And when we got to the other side where the black clouds were, it rained buckets.

    I love this pic. It's stark and cold and it looks a lot like here. It also looks a lot like fall, my favorite season.

    That picture could have been taken from my backyard. Except for the fact that I live in a 14 story building, and there is no water nearby. Except for the man made pond.

    As lovely as this image is, it's not something I like to see when I look out my window.


    I read through the comments and have come to the conclusion that almost all the participants in this 30 days of nonsense are bats. And crazy.


    I love the light and simply don't understand how y'all can stand days of unending dark clouds and rain. We've lost the last 3+ weeks to this stuff. I like this weather occasionally but a steady diet leaves me depressed.

    Haha, I'd say you were lucky not to be born in Finland, then! I love this stuff. It's raining right now, and I absolutely adore the sound of rain on the window. Magical, I'm telling you.
