30 Days of Photographs III: Secret
Is that the time-out chair?
ReplyDeleteThere are many things I like about this photograph, including the ideal triptych composition and the strange, almost magical negative image of that lone chair hidden in an open space behind some trees, which whispers, "Secret." But I also admire it from a technical standpoint. It must've been dark outside, and I can't help but wonder how you held your hands still enough to take the shot. Or did you use a tripod?
ReplyDeleteyour secret is safe with me...
ReplyDeleteIt is no secret that I love places like this...except here in Florida you have to watch out for snakes both on the ground and in the trees...never go in the woods alone.
ReplyDeleteis that were mike does his needlepoint work?
ReplyDeleteIt's a secret, Mike.
ReplyDeleteI guess we all have a secret place either in our mind or in reality where we like to go from time to time. I really like yours.
ReplyDeleteA lovely, secret glade...
ReplyDeleteExactly what am I looking at? No, no, no don't tell me. Okay tell me. No, no, no don't tell me. Maybe give me a hint. No, don't give me any hints. I hate secrets.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really intriguing photo! It almost looks like a negative image or something shot with old-fashioned infra-red film (you are far too young to have used this!). I really love the quality.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I pictured Mike as more of a night-time knitter.
There is a giant man standing behind that chair. Am I the only one who sees it? I swear I haven't started drinking...yet. Ziva, you took a perfectly normal setting and made it look magical. But I'm not going in there with that giant man.
ReplyDeleteYou're right... there is a giant man in there. I didn't notice him before.
ReplyDeleteOoh, ahh. I shall sit in that chair and journal my secrets. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteAhahahhahahahaha!
ReplyDeletethis photo is both peaceful and a little nerve wracking, Ziva!
ReplyDeleteAt first I wanted to find this chair and sit in it with a good book and enjoy some alone time... but the more I looked at it, the more it began to creep me out as if it's some "time out" spot where bad kids get snatched from.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pat, I sure wouldn't want Mike finding out..
ReplyDeleteWell, over here we only have two types of snakes, only one of which is poisonous. Also, it's so cold already that all the snakes have gone into zombie-mode in some deep dark cave. ;)
ReplyDeleteCan I tell you a secret, dufus? This isn't really my secret place, but I can't post a photo of water every single day. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you. :)
ReplyDeleteJamie... you don't want to know.
ReplyDeleteI think it's more of an Evil Twin kind of a chair..;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Meleah, I know exactly what you mean!
ReplyDeleteThanks, LM! It really did turn out quite well. It was dark, and a yellow street light made everything seem slightly orange. It made for a nice effect when I made it B&W.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit, I see the man!! Had I seen it when I took the photo, I would've run like hell.
ReplyDeleteIt's strange you'd say that, it's actually a kid's chair. It's too small for you and me to sit in, but for a kid, about to get snatched... It's perfect. ;)
ReplyDeleteNo tripod. Just me, the chair and a yellow street light. I'm very glad you liked it, Mike. :)
ReplyDeleteYep. Have you been bad?
ReplyDeleteYes. It's also the time-out chair, because Mike's bad a lot.
ReplyDeleteCrap, now I really want to know... but I am a little afraid.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo. I do needlepoint too. It's really fun. No, actually I took up embroidery for a little while and wrote sweet nothings on my boyfriend's underwear.
ReplyDeleteWow, you're a better person than I am, Linda, I just used to steal my boyfriends' underwear.
ReplyDeleteDon't be afraid, it will only hurt for a little while.
ReplyDeleteVery, very bad. May be time to bring out the whip.
ReplyDeleteFinally!
ReplyDeleteI had assumed that this was a daytime shot. Now after reading the comments I see that you are very crafty!
ReplyDeleteYou always take thoughtful shots, I enjoy them. :) And you usually make me laugh, lol. :)
ReplyDeleteTeam Edward... WOOT!
ReplyDeleteI know, right!! Vampires all the way.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kevin. I'm glad I can make you laugh. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, very crafty indeed. You should see me with a paper clip and a pair of shoelaces.
