Day 3 of 30 Days of Photographs III is here. Add your link at the bottom of the page, stop swearing at the prompts, and go visit the rest of the participants.
I know there are no winners or losers in this thing, but I must bow to your supremacy in photo taking every time I see one of your phones. (I'm literally on my knees now.) I truly am not worthy...
And all I can think about is that thing dripping constantly on your head. I didn't know Finnish water torture existed. I'm more than willing to share my umbrella with you.
My saviour! Finnish water torture is very cruel, it goes on non stop from September to November and the only way to get away is to be rescued by a gorgeous Canadian girl with a pretty umbrella.
I know, the creativity of all the participants just blows me away! Everyone gets the same prompt, but all the photos are so different, it's so much fun to see what everyone comes up with each day.
This is, without question, the finest photograph of dental floss I've ever seen. It's simply striking, from the glistening drops of fluoride rinse dangling on the taut grey thread to the curvilinear row of pearlescent teeth standing in soft-focus contrast to the sublime linear perfecttion of the string that's poised ready to perform its task.
Did I say I was jealous? I'm not. I don't have a jealous bone in my body. Which is a weird expression, really. Jealousy doesn't reside in the bones, it lives in the mind, heart or soul. So why mention bones? I don't understand our language sometimes.
All true except for the sunlit part, we only have artificial light this time of year, and that photo was taken in the middle of the night. I had to make it black and white because the actual colour of the photo was orange from the street light. ;)

ReplyDeletewow! How early in the morning did you have to get up to capture this one?
ReplyDeleteAgain...Camera envy! GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteIt's actually taken late at night, in the rain. ;) Which is a very good thing, because I don't really do early mornings. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm glad you like it. :)
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking that it looks sugar coated. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI know there are no winners or losers in this thing, but I must bow to your supremacy in photo taking every time I see one of your phones. (I'm literally on my knees now.) I truly am not worthy...
ReplyDeleteI meant photos, of course.
DeleteOh, man, why am I even in this little contest. You put the rest of us to shame. What a lovely picture, Ziva.
ReplyDeleteAnd all I can think about is that thing dripping constantly on your head. I didn't know Finnish water torture existed. I'm more than willing to share my umbrella with you.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this photo. Of course, I am a sucker for black n white, but the glistening is just beautifully captured. Amazing, Ziva!
ReplyDeleteSugar coated? Now I have this image of you licking the clothes line in my head.
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you Bryan for the incredibly kind words! I think I'm actually blushing here...
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, kindest dufus, but this is not a contest, remember? ;)
ReplyDeleteMy saviour! Finnish water torture is very cruel, it goes on non stop from September to November and the only way to get away is to be rescued by a gorgeous Canadian girl with a pretty umbrella.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Meleah, I'm glad you liked it!
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteTo what Dufus said, thank GAWD this is not a contest. I am so impressed by what you guys come up with and I love your photo today, Ziva.
ReplyDeleteI cannot read that sentence without imagining a clothes line in your head.
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought I was just swearing under my breath - good lawd Ziva, you heard it in the inferno?

Do I look good with a clothes line in my head?
ReplyDeleteI know, the creativity of all the participants just blows me away! Everyone gets the same prompt, but all the photos are so different, it's so much fun to see what everyone comes up with each day.
ReplyDeleteI hear everything. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is, without question, the finest photograph of dental floss I've ever seen. ReplyDeleteI applaud you, Ziva.
Fun? What fun? This is tedious as hell. Am I missing something here?
ReplyDeleteBut if it was, I'd be winning. Just sayin'
ReplyDeleteNot with cloud photos, my dear.
ReplyDeleteMike, you need glasses. Or new teeth if this is what you use to floss.
ReplyDeleteAren't you always?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image as usual!
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Why is M not protecting you from those threatening droplets?? Is the honeymoon over ?
What a wonderful photo. (MWJ is jealous so you know how good it is.)
ReplyDeleteWow! You outdo yourself every day. Damn you are good.
ReplyDeleteI had my teeth removed when I went to prison. The boys in Cellblock C seemed to like me better that way.
ReplyDeleteDid I say I was jealous? I'm not. I don't have a jealous bone in my body. Which is a weird expression, really. Jealousy doesn't reside in the bones, it lives in the mind, heart or soul. So why mention bones? I don't understand our language sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lauren for the awesome compliment!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! (He totally is.)
ReplyDeleteM who?
ReplyDeleteNo idea what it is, but it's pretty! Indigo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Indigo! It's actually a clothes line, wet with raindrops.
ReplyDeleteBest looking clothes line I've ever seen! I had to cheat and read ahead to find out what it actually was.
ReplyDeleteHah, thank you Linda! In this case, cheating is perfectly acceptable. ;)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely, 100000000000000% love love love this picture. ♥
ReplyDeleteI had to look at the comments to find out what this was too. All I knew was it was a strand with delicate sunlit water drops and magnificent bokeh.
ReplyDeleteTotally. And I'm not just saying that.
ReplyDeleteLove this photo! I have images of home in my mind which match this photo.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you, I'm really glad you liked it. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteYou're such a sweet talker.
