30 Days of Photographs IV: Tremor

Day 12: Tremor

My forgetful co-host MikeWJ blamed me for this prompt. Thing is, it was all him. He thought we needed something huge, something monumental, something like a natural disaster. Earthquake, he thought, we should add Earthquake as a prompt. No, I said, there's no way we can have Earthquake on the list, because it's just not going to work. Well, maybe something similar, Mike mused. Like, vibrating, trembling, tremor.

And so, tremor it was.

Me, I had no ideas. Well, not no ideas. I thought about taking a night photo of some street lights with a shaky hand, painting the tremor into the image. And I thought about taking a photo of an old person's hands. Of course, the very moment this post is scheduled to publish, I will be at the bank, and my own hands will be trembling as I sign a very important paper.

But, I still need a photo... Pictured below is the calm sea, little drops of rain sending ripples, tremors, across the surface.

    I thought ripple was something you drank,,, after which you got the tremors.

    I always have a shaky hands. If I had been smart, I could've posted a bunch of bad photos. Alas... But I love what you did. That never occurred to me but it created a beautiful pic.

    No, Heaven forbid we have Earthquake on the list. It might have squeezed out such wonderfully awesome prompts like Tremor and Tolstoy.

    Thanks, Traci. To tell you the truth, I don't think you can use tremor when talking about waves in the water, but who cares, I'm the host of this thing and I approve of this photo. ;)

    I really like this photo! It perfectly represents the word 'tremor' too!

    I love this photo, even if it barely qualifies for tremor. It's the sort of photo one can study for hours, the eyes tracing lines and points dreamily. I especially like the way it flows from light to dark from the upper left to the lower right. Nicely composed.

    Coincidentally, my town is experiencing its fifth straight day of heavy rain and flooding. We've received nearly a year's worth of rain in less than a week. They're calling it a 500-year event, probably related to global warming.
