Day 22: Frustration
M and I have been experiencing weird internet activity the past few weeks. Without warning, our wifi becomes sluggish and lazy. It keeps cutting out, and then coming back on. And it's strange, because if the power is out and the internet is broken, you just sigh and put away your computer. You know it's not going to work no matter what you do. So you grab a book and read it by the candle light. You talk to your husband or wife, you take a moment to reflect on your life and your achievements.
All is well.
But when the internet should work perfectly, but it doesn't, it's the most frustrating thing ever!
*
I think its going around. I've been feeling sluggish and lazy as well.
ReplyDeleteDid you call your ISP? They would probably just tell you to reboot.
Great photo. captures the mood perfectly.
Are you sure it's the internet that's frustrating M? Or is it the time and attention being given to Bob lately?
ReplyDeleteHa ha! So true! This keeps happening to ours lately too. You should hear Mo and I groaning and sighing. If it wasn't so frustrating, it would be funny!
ReplyDeleteUgh. What a pain! It does make you want to beat your head against something or pull your hair out!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!
We had a power outage last week and my PC, TV and games console shut down immediately,
ReplyDeleteso I had to talk to my wife for a few hours.
She seems like a nice person.
I agree! It drives me crazy when I have a slow connections. That spinning circle makes me looney tunes!
ReplyDelete:-)
Traci
Bahahahaha! She is and you're hysterical.
ReplyDeleteI think you could be onto something there Paula. At least she includes him in her photo sessions, so there's that.
ReplyDeleteHe really does that well. You owe him big for this one because he helped make this a really interesting photo. This is the type of shot an advertising agency would love (except the border might be hit or miss). I work for an agency & this is better than some of the stock art we pay for. Hell, I've seen a ton of photos during all the challenges that are better than stock art by a mile. I'm done babbling now. :D
ReplyDeleteLike now! I just got the "aw snap!" from Google. Your photo speaks for anyone who has had/is having Internet issues. It should be in the Internet Archives discovered by future archaeologists.
ReplyDeleteWait, a power outage means I'm supposed to talk to Jepeto? Are you high?
ReplyDeleteThat's a great photo of M. It reminds me of how he looked when we talked about blurry photographs. :-)
That was so funny - I read that one to Mr. VZ.
ReplyDeleteAt least you can get M to help you with these prompts. Mr. VZ just shakes his head at my internet activities ...
ReplyDeleteI think you have hit the nail on the head: the most frustrating things are always the ones that should work, but don't. Like planning a journey and then getting an unexpected hold-up, or buying a truckload of expensive yarn and the pattern isn't written properly and doesn't work out. Or when the wifi should be connected ... and isn't!
ReplyDeleteI once spent an hour on the phone to tech support in a hotel because of this. It was sheer bloody-mindedness on my part, but it should have worked, and it didn't. None of the staff knew why (though they tried to help) and as a last resort they gave me that poor guy's number. He was great, actually!
Perfect !
ReplyDeleteDamn. I was so early posting today (for me, anyway!) that I forgot to add my link!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shawn. :) We've tried rebooting five different ways, and then we tried voodoo. Nothing works.
ReplyDeleteHaha! As long as the internet works, I don't have to worry M being jealous of Bob, he's got plenty of computer geek stuff to deal with. ;)
ReplyDelete"Include him"... "bribe him".. same thing.
ReplyDeleteIt's the worst! M and I get completely padded-cell-crazy.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Reffie. :) That's exactly how it is.
ReplyDeleteHaha! This sounds like something M might say. :D
ReplyDeleteI hate that little spinning circle!
ReplyDeleteHa! Thank you so much Cheryl! This means a lot, especially coming from someone as talented as you. M is such a good sport. I kept telling him to open wider and get closer and look angrier, and he just sighed and complied. ;)
ReplyDeleteAt one point I considered trying to sell my photos, but there are just so many good photos and photographers out there, it seems very unlikely I could sell anything.
Internet issues are the bane of our existence. #firstworldproblems
ReplyDeleteOh god no, not Jepeto! Me! You're moving to Finland, remember?
ReplyDeleteM is awesome, he'll do almost anything for a decent bribe.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
ReplyDeleteMy first guess was that he'd switched to Windows or something, cause that's how I look whenever I do ;) Love how you staged this one.
ReplyDeleteI've been getting pushed and pulled to DO something with my photography for the past couple of years. I make a few gifts but the idea of actually doing much more than that makes my brain want to explode.
ReplyDeleteIf it becomes work for money, I'll lose the one hobby I have that can both calm and challenge me. Attempting to shoot something a bit different or better than the last time is enough work for me.
