As usual, PJ's hosting his monthly photo blogging challenge, this month with the theme "summer". Summer is a great theme, but sadly, our two weeks of summer occur in June, not August, so the photos I've taken this month are hardly very summery. I'm still going to give it a go, though.
My first photo is of a little girl, of love, of newlyweds, of dancing, and promises of the future.
My second photo is of Gucci, swimming in the sea. I sure wouldn't go in, but apparently having 50 pounds of fur keeps you warm, even in the chilly waters of
My third photo is of the Archipelago Sea at 7:30 am on a Monday, driving over a bridge in the misty morning light.
My fourth photo is of my brother's band, because nothing says summer like outdoor concerts.
My fifth and last photo is proof that summer is almost over. The leaves are falling off the trees, and the flowers are slowly dying. But hey, at least we don't have snow yet.
Now, go look at some other people's summer, you can find the list over on PJ's blog.
After you're done with that, come back here and I'll tell you about something awesome MikeWJ and I have in store for you.
See, 30 Days of Photographs IV, also known as Bob, starts September 1st. I hope every single one of you will participate and take a photo or thirty. We're really happy with the list of themes this time around, and with happy, I mean we hate it so much we keep asking ourselves what the hell we were smoking when we came up with it. As always, Ziva, your photos are amazing. I find 3 and 5 particularly moving. They both have a feel of autumn coming on. Not that I'm looking forward to autumn, mind you.
ReplyDeleteSo I've got 5 of the 30 nailed down. Working furiously on the rest ..
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. The misty morning is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Dufus, there's a real feeling of the end of summer in your set. I especially like the photo of your brother's band. Besides being a great photo, it reminds me of my little city where August is all music all the time in our riverside park.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for admitting you hate this list. I hate it so much I'm unlikely to participate. It's not that it's more difficult than other lists, it's just leaves me cold. I hate being cold. When I'm cold my imagination stagnates. When my imagination stagnates, I isolate. When I isolate, I put my camera away and become cranky.
(In all honesty, I'd like to participate but I've got issues in my life that I need to attend to in September & I don't know that I'll have time to do it all. I will try to drop by and annoy you on occasion, though. It's the least I can do.)
The sea photo took my breath away. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAround here, plants are dying because they are tired of being hot. Maybe that is a sign of the beginning of the end. We will welcome cooler temps but you can keep the snow.
"My fourth photo is of my brother's band, because nothing says summer like outdoor concerts." -- That's my favorite out of these, Ziva! Most excellent!
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteFive!? Damn, I feel bad now. I still only have one.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Babs, it was a beautiful morning. :)
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, Cheryl. I don't think I hate the list with quite the vengeance you do... I'm sorry it leaves you cold and cranky and isolated. I did slip in a bird prompt for you when Mike wasn't looking. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you decide to participate, even though you don't like the list. I know life has a way of getting in the way, but I do enjoy your photos a lot.
We can swap, Reffie! I'll take the heat, and you'll take the ice age. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Meleah! I always love seeing him play. They were brilliant. :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the photos but there is something unique and special about a child dancing at a wedding so that one got me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, based on my gal pal Meleah's rec, I am going to try this photo challenge, so I guess I'll see you tomorrow.
:-)
Traci
Well for some crazy reason, I'm in for the long haul. All 30 days.
ReplyDeleteThe pics are great, of course. The sea looks like silk, especially when you view it large. The little girl shot is precious. As for the band shot, I could spot a Peavey amp anywhere ;)
Of course you noticed the amp. :D
ReplyDeleteI am really happy you'll be participating in the torture with us, I'm looking forward to seeing your photos!
Thanks, Traci, I liked the one of the girl, too. She was completely absorbed in her own little world, dancing among the other couples.
ReplyDeleteThat's great news, we love new faces in the challenge! I'm looking forward to seeing your photos. :) Welcome to the mayhem. ;)
Excellent set of images, as always! :) I love that first shot. You really captured an awesome moment!
ReplyDeleteThanks, PJ. :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Did my stream-of-consciousness writing lead you to believe that I didn't lurve this list? I surely didn't mean to leave you with that impression. I think they're the most brilliant prompts in the history of blog meme prompts. :D
ReplyDeleteDamn, Cheryl, "the most brilliant prompts in the history of blog meme prompts"? Now I KNOW you're mocking us. :D It's okay, though, MikeWJ and I love to be hated when it comes to prompts. ;)
ReplyDeleteThese are all really good photographs, Ziva. So good that I'd have trouble picking my favorite.
ReplyDeleteOkay, maybe my favorite is of the little girl dancing at the wedding.
Or of the lake shrouded in fog.
Or of the dying plant surrounded by dead leaves.
I give up. They're all good. Must be nice to have actual talent.
That bird prompt sucks bird poop, and I have no ideas for it whatsoever. I am despondent.
ReplyDeleteYou ought to know, you're the best photographer I know.
ReplyDeleteGuess we trade around those couple weeks of summer and they finally arrived in my part of the world in August...thanks for having summer first this year! That photo of the outdoor band performance really nailed the theme this time around.
ReplyDeleteGlad I didn't come across your 30 day photo challenge until today...it looks tough!
Thank you, and you're welcome. Glad you got to enjoy summer, too. :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, it's never too late to join! ;)
