Changes

The particularly observant reader will notice there have been some changes to this blog.  The "I have cookies" tagline is gone, for one. This is due to the fact that I very rarely actually have cookies anymore. Sometimes I have coffee cake, or cupcakes, or PMS, but rarely cookies.

Also, Ziva went Facebook. You now have the very questionable privilege of being able to like Ziva's Inferno on Facebook (please see pretty button in the column to the right of this very text,) not to mention befriend your very own Ziva Moon (yes, that's my real last name. Totally.) Find me. Like me. You'll stay with me ‘til the bitter end, won't you?

Oh, and last, but certainly not least, the entire blog has a new look! (I blame the PMS.) I was sick and tired of the pink and fluffy and decided to switch over to the dark side. I realize of course that some of my aging readers are not only a little hard of hearing, but also have trouble reading the white text against the dark background. I tried to remedy the problem by using a large, friendly font, but it looked like I needed to introduce a new tagline "Ziva's Inferno - Now in Large-Print and Simple English!" So, and I do apologize for this, the size of the font will stay the same. However, I did change it from eye-hurting white to a much friendlier grey. Do you like it? Be honest. No, don't be. Yes, be. Honesty is good. But only if you have something nice to say. Fine, you can criticize if you want to. You guys are so mean.

  1. I like the black, Ms. Moon. I tried it, too, and everybody bitched me out. Maybe they had PMS, even the so-called men. I might switch back, and then post about kitties to offset the damage. Everybody loves kitties.

  2. Honestly if I was lying about lying to you I would lie and say that I honestly think that font color is an interesting topic. Wait...what did I say? I suggest you try out a font that is only visible in moonlight. That would be cool!

  3. Honestly, Zelma, sometimes you just make perfect sense, and I would be lying if I told you I was honest when I said this wasn't one of those times.

Visible only in moonlight, eh? I might have to sacrifice a goat for this one.. Are you with me?

  4.  Thank you, Mr. Whiteman-Jones, I like it, too. I'm especially fond of the grey, seeing as there is no black anywhere on the page, except for on the piano. I'll gladly provide you with pictures of my cats, if it will help.

  5. Did you know grey can also be spelled gray? Yeah, apparently "gray" is how it's spelled in America and "grey" is how it is spelled in England. Being from Canada I am severely conflicted. Not just over whether I should fall into step with my American friends or demonstrat my support for the monarchy. No, I'm just simply conflicted. It's a personality flaw of mine. But enough about me. Nice do-over.

  6. Honestly, black and grey or pink with purple polka dots or lime green with orange stripes... doesn't matter a bit as long as you wear pinafores and knee socks and promise to Skype me regularly. I really hope this comment doesn't make you feel like I don't love you for your blog. I do. It's just that the schoolgirl outfit and Skyping (not to mention the awkward banana) are really hawt.

  7. The grey on black is much more soothing to my old eyes.  Me likey.

    I still want cookies.

I'll settle for cupcakes but not PMS.  Dislike.

I like the keyboard but the header is missing something.  I'm not sure what.  Maybe the inferno?

  8.  I likey that you likey! And I'll see what I can do about the cookies.. Maybe I'll even forget a batch in the oven and then we'll have both cookies and an inferno.

  10. Grey and gray, you don't say? That must be why I keep spelling it differently every time I try. You could always try first insulting an American and then a Brit and see which one you enjoyed insulting more. I can't really help you with the conflicted personality thing, though. I don't have any experience with that. And neither do I.

  11. Thank you for making the font GREY instead of that blinding WHITE!

  15. I've only been here once before and in the time since I've completely forgotten what it previously looked like. I've tried to imagine 'pink and fluffy' but that has hurt my eyes and ears, so I'm going to have to remain agnostic on this. I do quite like the grey font though, so I'll give you some points for that.

  16. Ziva, my aging eyes can see this print just fine, thank you.  Oh, and I like how "dark and clean" this looks.  "Dark and dirty" might be fine too.  I'm just not sure.  Let me go find a button to like you.

  17. I'd actually prefer the white text, please, and a little larger.   Okay.  I'll just go fuck myself now.

  18.  Thank you! I'm quite pleased with it, really.

  19.  Thanks, I'll take any points you can spare. The pink wasn't exactly fluffy, and it was a very non-Barbie pink, but still.. Everything is better in grey.

  20. Linda, you're pressing just the right buttons.. Next time I'll definitely aim for dark and dirty. ;)

  21. Well, at least you didn't say you'd prefer the pink and fluffy.

  22. I only like my cats pink and fluffy and only after a lot of tequila.

  23. I'll grab the cat and the pink spray paint, you grab the tequila.

  24. Can you switch back to non-Barbie pink for a brief second or two so that I can take a step back and let my wisdom unfold?

    ReplyDelete
  25.  Of course! There, I just did it. Did you like it?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Not really, and the non-Barbie flash almost blinded me, but thanks anyway.

  27. Speaking as an ex art director with almost 50 years of experience, I rarely, if ever, would advise anyone to use white type on a black background. But you are an exception. You have done a beautiful job with this layout. The keyboard photo is beautiful and evocative. Count Sneaky.

  28. Thank you very much, Count Sneaky, I'm really glad you like it. :) The keyboard photo is a favorite of mine; it's the very old, very worn piano I learned to play on.
