Money, the most ordinary of matters. We all deal with it every day. We work for it, we spend it, we count it and sometimes, we dream of having more of it. This girl was counting it. Maybe even dreaming of having a little more of it, because they sold two different kinds of chocolate bars at the concert, and she chose the smaller one, the less expensive one. Then again, if she’d had more of it, she’d probably still be counting it, because that’s what money does to you.
Money, can’t live with it, can’t live without it.

Okay, now I have that Pink Floyd song running through my brain. Lovely photo, Ziva. I like how it's lit. Cool.
ReplyDeleteI can't work out the lighting - a stage light perhaps? - but the effect of the light above and coming through the gap in the curtain, or doorway, is really unique, and I love how it is falling on the girl's hair.
ReplyDeleteI hate money, although some more of it would be nice.
I thought for sure this post was going to involve light sabers and Yoda. But then I scrolled down and it was just a girl. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteNice job with ordinary matters, Ziva.
Such a... soft photograph. Not ordinary at all, for being about an ordinary matter. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet photo! It makes me want to buy the girl 2 big chocolate bars! Wonderful halo effect around her. Nice!
ReplyDeleteThe lighting looks like sunlight streaming down from a skylight to me, but I could be wrong. Only Ziva could tell us, if she wants to. She might want to leave it a bit mysterious. Either way, very nicely done...as always by our leader Ziva.
ReplyDeletetotally-super-awesome! I absolutely LOVE this one! Great job, Ziva!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome composition, Ziva! Really great photo.
ReplyDelete;-)
It's a beautiful picture, soft and ethereal. Unlike money, which is hard and earthly.
ReplyDeleteLove the lighting in this photo. The halo effect combined with the soft focus make it a beautiful image. As for money -it's dirty. No really, think about the germs it carries. It's dirty.
ReplyDeleteLove it Ziva. Do you just walk around with your amazing camera and take amazing photos all day? Because.. once again - beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDo you mind if I call you UP? Hey, UP, you're probably right, I'd like to employ you as my personal, ever-present and etherial advisor. Is that ok?
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhhhhhhh. Pink Floyd. *reaches for guitar*.
ReplyDeleteIs that anything like your own personal Jesus?
ReplyDeleteMoney it's a hitDon't give me that do goody good bullshitI'm in the hi-fidelity first class traveling setAnd I think I need a Lear jet
ReplyDeleteA little Pink Floyd never hurt anyone. ;) Thanks, dufus, I'm glad you liked the photo.
ReplyDeleteWill you play for everyone? Should I light a campfire?
ReplyDeleteMoney
ReplyDeleteIt's a crime
Share it fairly
But don't take a slice of my...
*hold on, just tuning up*
...pieeeeeee.
The light was simply perfect, and she happened to stand in a way so I could move around to get best angle where the light shone right down on her. What can I say, sometimes you just get lucky with the light. ;)
ReplyDeleteAh yes, only Ziva knows and Ziva loves a secret. ;) Thank you, Bryan, I really appreciate the nice comments. :)
ReplyDeleteDamn, I wish I would've thought of that, we have dozens of lightsabers just lying around here.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nicky. It's not quite as lovely as your photo today, though, which was just sheer perfection. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda, I'm really glad you liked it. :) I would have bought her the chocolate, but I was busy being a creepy stalker, taking photos of her instead. ;)
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you, Meleah!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm glad you liked it, Double-O. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michael. :) There really is something to be said for soft light like this..
ReplyDeletePerhaps she's actually an angel? ;) An angel carrying highly dirty money.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to just keep taking pictures of lips and pretty girls, I'm good with that.
ReplyDeleteWell, Michael would say that I just send out my amazing camera and it comes back with amazing phtos for me to publish, but the truth is a little different... ;) I carry the camera wherever I go, just in case I come across something I want to shoot.. And sometimes, I actually get lucky and manage to capture something. ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm sure you are. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe lighting is amazing. It's like the heavens opened up to help her find her money. Did the girl know you were taking her photo? Were you right up by her or far away? Just wondered what she thought about you.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Malisa. :) I wasn't standing too far from her, but she had no idea I was taking her photo. There were a lot of people around, and she wasn't paying attention. Which is good, otherwise she'd have thought I was crazy. ;)
ReplyDeleteCool photo! Money may be an ordinary matter but we worry about it more than what's ordinary don't you think? I know I do anyway! :)
ReplyDeleteShe's lying. The camera does all the work. All she has to do is change the batteries once a week.
ReplyDeleteBite me.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nora! We really do worry about it an awful lot, don't we...?
ReplyDeleteI love the way the light creates something of an aura around her. Money may be ordinary but it sure does mess with our heads.
ReplyDeleteI will, I will. Can I? Can I?
ReplyDeleteI'm with Frank.
ReplyDeleteDon't tell me you got lucky with this one. It's awesome and I love the text you worked in around it.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that!
ReplyDeleteUm, but what if I did get lucky? :D I get lucky a lot, you know...
ReplyDeleteThe light really was perfect. :) And money not only messes with our heads, but it makes everything complicated.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I was hoping you'd ask.. ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm sure you are. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the lighting in this photo. The halo effect combined with the soft focus make it a beautiful image. As for money -it's dirty. No really, think about the germs it carries. It's dirty.
