30 Days of Photographs III: Qwerty

Day 18 of 30 Days of Photographs III. The end is fast approaching, and I feel a little sad. Maybe we should make it 60 Days of Photographs? I can think of a ton of awesome prompts; Infinite, Shakespearean, Paradox, 1,3,7-trimethyl-1H-purine-2,6(3H,7H)-dione-3,7-dihydro-1,3,7-trimethyl-1H-purine-2,6-dione...

Add your suggestion at the bottom of the page.

Qwerty

What you see here is my new laptop. And a fire extinguisher. The reason for both of these items is my former laptop. It was a nice laptop, fairly reliable, nice-looking, black to match my soul. (And my shoes.)

Everything was fine and dandy, until it melted.

Somehow, a loose power connector created enough resistance to melt the plastic, resulting in something you NEVER want to see your laptop do. At the time, I still didn't have the new laptop yet, and because I'm about as addicted to the internet as I am to Pepsi Max, I kept using the steaming pile of melted plastic until the new laptop arrived this week. Luckily, I'm a sensible girl, and so I practised safe surfing -- with the fire extinguisher next to me.

  3. Oh darlin', that's one sad story. So many of my favorite people live in my laptop, I'd be rocking in the fetal position if mine had a meltdown.

  5. Hush now, it's over. Put it behind you along with coins and qwerty.

I forgot to tell you I think paradox is a great prompt. I'm putting together a list of prompts I'd like to see in the next challenge. I promise it won't include anything that could be twisted to provoke anyone to take a photo of cheese.

  7. Oh great. I get to visit 18 pictures of keyboards today. At least only one will have a fire extinguisher. You're so unique, Ziva.

And also, I can't believe you kept using the old lap top even though it was steaming pile of melted plastic.

  17. Okay. You need to lay off the booze, sober up a little and come back and try again.

  28. Regarding your desktop: Is that a picture of a mama and pappa duck and their baby ducklings on a mirrored lake? Looks like it to me, and they're soooooo adorably cute! *Squee!*

    ReplyDelete
  29. Why, yes! Yes it is! I'm so glad you think they're cute! I was worried you'd go all "birds will peck your eyes out, because that's what they do, they peck your eyes out," on me.

  30. You are so right! I'm never putting it away again.

  31. Hah! Perhaps Qwerty isn't quite as obvious as you'd think. ;) I have to confess, it's not like the entire laptop melted, just some rather important parts around the power cord..

  32. Indigo! Behave! You can't just ask to touch a lady's keyboard like this.
