I believe this is the best photograph of the challenge so far. Beautifully composed, uniquely angled, fantastic tonal range, incredibly expressive and mysterious, and it fits the theme and time of year so perfectly. It could be in a gallery, and should be.

I bow to your skillz, Ziva.

  2. I love what you've done here. Did you pay M to walk into the frame or did you patiently wait for this moment? Choosing to capture someone walking into the shot and giving him/her enough space to move into the great abyss that's the city is really exceptionally good composition.

  3. I would never have been able to get back up from taking this photo!!! This really is a great 'city' interpretation.

  8. This really is an exceptional shot for all of the reasons that everyone has already mentioned. I am rather amazed that you could take such a great photo while lying drunk in the gutter like that!

  10. Love this and that sidewalk is awesome with the scraps of leaves. It reminds me of Prague for some reason.

  11. Ohh, Prague.. I love Prague. I wouldn't mind going back there for a little while.

  13. Thank you, LM! What can I say. I spend most of my life drunk in the gutter, eventually the point and shoot technique was bound to work. ;)

  14. Oh, the snow is still on the ground. This photo I took a couple of weeks ago. :)

  15. Aww, thank you for the kind words, Boom Boom. :)

  16. Haha, people did look at me a little weirdly as I was lying on the ground, aiming my camera at random strangers' feet.

  17. And also, I SWEAR you and MWJ are totally psychic because we are in the midst of Hurricane Sandy, the worst storm in history to EVER hit NJ. And I can almost guarantee we will be IN an actual BLACK OUT tomorrow!

  18. I was out alone, so I sat there, waiting for random people to walk into the shot and then I hoped they wouldn't be too bothered by me snapping away. I'm glad you liked it. :)

  19. Thank you, Michael. :) You say the nicest things. I do think your photo was better thank mine today, though.

Still, feel free to bow to me. I like it.

  20. Hah, I know, I had no idea Mike and I had powers like that. Next time, I promise we'll add more prompts like "snow" and "unicorns" and "frolicking".

  22. I love this pic Ziva! Where were you to get this perspective?

  23. Ziva, this is a fantastic picture. I love the perspective. I think what I would love more is a picture of YOU taking the picture, just to see how you did it!

  24. Haha, thank GOD no one was there to take my photo, I must've looked insane!

  27. Hey Ziva! Dammit, another comment went astray. What was I saying? Ah yes. What Mike said; Gallery material! I'd give any of your beautiful photos house-room. Indigo x
