30 Days of Photographs III: Broken

Day 21 of 30 Fucking Days of Photographs III. One million days to go, and I think we're all a little broken now. Please, add your link at the bottom of the page.

Broken

Since everyone else is posting photos of dogs, I get to do it, too. This little cutie is my mom and dad's four-month old St Bernard. She's the sweetest little 55-lbs puppy you could ever imagine! She's also a 55-lbs puppy with four left feet and enough energy to make the Energizer Bunny green. When she's around, it's best to puppy proof anything below waist level, or it will be broken.

Why is she attacking those poor farmers? Don't you have leash laws in Finland?

  4. 55 pounds at 4 months? I think you're gonna need a bigger bag of dog food. (Dear god, thank you for talking me out of another big dog this time! )

  5. I always wanted a St. Bernard, but my father was totally against it. So, as a child I had him sign a contract to get my first-born a St. Bernard. He saved that paper and presented it to me when I had my first baby. Good thing he decided to break the contract!!! They are so cute, but need lots of space!!

  9. Hey Ziva! A 55-lb puppy with four left feet? Damn, he sounds magnificent! I wanna meet this fluffy wrecking ball! Indigo x

  10. I thought the same thing as Dufus. That tail looks more dangerous than the 4 left feet. Sweet shot, Ziva.

  11. Zoe has "happy tail syndrome" and we even considered having her tail amputated. She's a hazard to everything and everyone including herself. She doesn't realize that she has a lethal whip attached to her hind quarters. What a pretty puppy! At least that tail isn't skinny and whiplike!

  12. 55-pounds and puppy in the same sentence. Wow. Keep that wrecking about away from my house.

She sure is a cute walking disaster, though!

  13. She sure is, and cuteness always comes before wrecking capacity.

  14. I sure hope you didn't really consider that, a tailless dog is a sad dog, and Zoe is just so amazing, even if her tail is a little on the happy side.. ;)

  15. Thanks, Cheryl! The tail is growing more and more dangerous with each day.

  16. I'm sure she'd love to meet you, too, she loves strangers. Especially if they come bearing treats.

  17. Hah, the best way to read about huge puppies.

  18. I had a St. Bernard growing up and I loved it! Perhaps you need to reconsider. ;)

  19. A bigger bag? Still not going to be enough...

  20. Cute and clumsy, that sums them up perfectly!

  21. Oh no, that would be horrible. Luckily that wasn't the case.

  22. We do, but someone's got to keep the farmer problem in check.

  23. Ziva, we actually did consider it. Zoe whacked her tail so hard that she bled profusely and splattered blood all over the house. The clean up was a mess, but even worse, we worried about her getting some of the places infected. There actually is a "happy tail syndrome" and it can be a mess to deal with. Eventually, Alex and I decided that having her tail amputated (the vet recommended it) would be a little bit like amputating her smile so we didn't do it. Zoe's tail is exactly like a whip (ask Nicky and Max). But we live with it.

  25. Dogs are so good at breaking stuff. That said, they don't hold a handle to kids.

  26. I love St Bernards. They are a little slobbery but have such sweet dispositions. I love that your photo captured all her energy. Precious really.

  27. I GET IT I GET IT I GET IT! Oh boy do we have to watch our puppy every single second. What a gorgeous dog!!!!!

  28. Cute. Hard to break anything in that empty cornfield. That is a cornfield, right?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well no. It's a field. It's empty. It used to be a potato field, now it's just a field.

    Obviously.

  30. Haha! Katherine, I love dogs, you can post as many photos of dogs as you want. ;)

  31. They do slobber a LOT. It's really quite gross. But the cuteness makes up for it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Eat? It doesn't eat, it devours.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Treats? Does she (apologies) have a sweet tooth? Or maybe a nice marrowbone?... There will be a big fuss, whatever. Indigo x

  34. She'll love you no matter what you bring, she loves everyone. :)
